Who We Are

Established in Kathmandu, Nepal · Registered under the Government of Nepal

Nepal China Academy was founded with the conviction that lasting friendship between nations is built not through treaties alone, but through the steady exchange of knowledge, culture, and shared aspiration. Established in Kathmandu and formally registered under the organizational registration framework of the Government of Nepal, the Academy has served for decades as a vital bridge between two ancient civilizations connected by the Himalayas.

From its earliest days, the Academy recognized that the relationship between Nepal and China is uniquely rich — shaped by centuries of trade along trans-Himalayan routes, by shared Buddhist heritage, by geographic proximity that makes cooperation not merely desirable but essential. What began as a small gathering of scholars, educators, and cultural advocates has grown into an institution whose programs span academic research, language instruction, youth leadership, trade facilitation, and diplomatic exchange.

The Academy’s organizational registration with the Government of Nepal affirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and public service. Every program, publication, and partnership is conducted under a governance framework led by an elected Executive Committee, ensuring that the Academy’s work reflects the collective will of its membership and the broader aspirations of Nepal-China relations.
